Newbourne has a delightful timber framed Hall dating from c 1500 but it is largely obscured from view by a wall.
The many glasshouses in this village date from a Government scheme set up in 1930 to provide distressed miners with a small house and two glasshouses in order to grow fruit and vegetables. Many of the houses are still detectable by their high-pitched roof and weatherboarding but many have been extended and visually changed.
