Freston

Pevsner is unsure of the date but notes that Freston Tower was referred to in 1561 as “built within these twelve years”.   It is about 200 yards from the Orwell estuary.  A standing or lookout tower built by the Latymer family.  It is now available as a holiday “cottage” via the Landmark Trust.
